Wintertime in the Colorado Rockies can be a very playful time. With snowfall typically plentiful, snow-mobilers will find our forests inviting. We have some of the best snowmobiling in the state. Imagine yourself on a top-rated machine with no crowds, great snow, fresh air, powder-filled meadows and spectacular views as far as the eye can see.

For an overview of the territory, view the zoomable Rio Grande National Forest Visitor Map — Middle Region .

Trailheads are located on Hwy 17 near Cumbres and La Manga Passes. Download a US Forest Service overview map of Cumbres & LaManga Winter Recreation area that highlights snowmobiling and skiing areas.
